success stories

Ram Koirala
I am Ram Koirala. I passed high school with distinction
marks this year. This was possible because I got sponsored through Society
for Each Other. Students of Singapore American School sponsored me for four
years. Otherwise, I would have left studies to work and earn to support
my mother, who became the sole breadwinner of the family after the death
of my father.
I have two younger brothers who are still in school. Therefore, I have to
find a college which not only my family can afford but also as the one where
I get my academic satisfaction as well.
I am grateful to every student of Singapore American School for giving me
a foundation to build my future.

Roshan Shahi Thakuri
I am Roshan Shahi Thakuri. I passed high school last year
with good marks and now I’m studying Business Studies at higher secondary
level.
Students of Singapore American School have been contributing to sponsor
20 students through SEO. I was one of the lucky one to be included in this
group for three years. I am very grateful to each and every student who
contributed to the fund and helped us to continue our studies.
Before I was included in the sponsorship program my parents had a very difficult
time trying to provide the basic necessities of life to the family and give
us, the children, a good education.
My parents have high expectations from me and I have some big dreams of
my own too! But, no tension! I believe if you have good intentions, there
will always be someone around the corner to help you over come your hurdles.

Bhagwati Budhathoki
I’m very thankful to Ms. Emily Keefe of Philadelphia,
U.S.A. for sponsoring my studies for the last four years.
I still remember the day, four years back when I was staying at home, not
rejoining school for the new academic year. My school teacher visited my
home and informed about my selection for sponsorship by Ms. Keefe through
SEO. That was the happiest day of my life! I rejoined school. Another very
exciting day for me was last year when I passed my high school.
I am in college now. I must tell you, one more important thing, I got married
a couple of months back and I am happy!
Lastly, I hope that other girls in my village will also get similar opportunities
to further their education. –Bhagwati Budhathoki
