Sewing Training Project
A Proposal on “Women Empowerment through Sewing Training”
Rational of the project:
The structural and systemic rigidities against women have
systematically deprived them of access to control over resources of vital
requirements. If absolute poverty and injustice are to be eradicated the
social and economical empowerment of women is a major pre-requisite.
The impact of armed conflict upon Nepalese women has been the most undesirable
and unbearable. It has been biting upon the dependent and fragile women
of Nepal. As they are extremely dependent on their parents and husbands,
after the birth of armed conflict, the situation turned graver as those
depended women got left to face crisis due to everyday massacre of their
husband and sons, beloveds ones, parents and finally deserted to fend for
themselves.
Taking into consideration this fact, women-targeted training and income-generating
programs to increase their capacity by imparting appropriate knowledge and
skill and create appropriate environment to utilize their skills and be
self-employed is of vital importance.
Project Description:
Having realized this fact SEO is stepping out to help these women. SEO has named this project “Women Empowerment”. We will give skill development training to these women. 24 women will have an opportunity to gain sewing skill during this project period. The project duration will be of 12 months. 24 women will be divided into two groups of 12 each. After completion of the training, trainees will be placed in different tailor shop for six months with allowance. Job Placement will depend on the performance of the trainees.
Expected Output:
Participant women will be able to utilize the skill and be self employed.
Target Group:
The Project includes following group of women:
- Women suffered from armed conflict, unemployed, deserted, single mother
and widow.
- Women working in different dance and cabin restaurant.
