Deepa lives in a village with her parents and younger sisters. Her father is physically incapable of working therefore the entire burden of providing for the family of four is on Deepa’s mother who works in the small farm they own. With two school-going daughters to bring up and provide for, work on the farm to produce enough for the family is beyond her. Therefore, Deepa needs monetary help to keep her in school and lessen her mother’s hardship.
